Possible Bomb Left Behind in Attempted Bank Robbery at Eastridge Mall
The would-be robber went inside the Wells Fargo and demanded money. The suspect then fled the scene leaving a backpack behind.

A bomb squad is working to determine the contents of a backpack left behind by a person who tried to rob a bank near San Jose’s Eastridge Mall on Wednesday afternoon.
Officers responded to a report of an attempted robbery at a Wells Fargo bank at 2170 Tully Road, police Officer Albert Morales said.
The suspect went inside the branch and demanded money, Morales said.

The suspect then fled the scene and left a backpack behind, according to Morales.
The suspect has not been found as of about 2:30 p.m., the spokesman said. No injuries were reported.

Arriving officers evacuated the bank as a precaution and police bomb technicians were called to the scene, according to Morales.
No further details were immediately available this afternoon.
