Red Cross Deploys Emergency Response Vehicles From Bay Area
Assistance is meant to help with volunteers and supplies in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy in East Coast.

The American Red Cross Bay Area sent another three emergency response vehicles capable of serving up to 3,000 meals a day to New York on Sunday, beefing up previous deployments of volunteers and supplies in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.
The vehicles, each driven by teams of two volunteers each, departed from Fairfield, Oakland and Burlingame Sunday, Red Cross officials said.
A total of 101 Red Cross volunteers and five Emergency Response Vehicles have been deployed from the Monterey and San Francisco areas since Sandy began.

The Red Cross has served more than 275,000 meals and snacks in New York and New Jersey alone as part of the Sandy relief efforts and is setting up more kitchens, fixed feeding sites and emergency aid locations daily, officials said.
On Friday night, more than 12,800 people across nine states stayed in shelters, more than 6,100 of them in Red Cross shelters.

Millions remain without power, water or heat.
