Saratoga Celebrates Arbor Day Today

Event at 3 p.m. today, Wednesday, April 24 at Saratoga Library to highlight importance of preserving trees.

The City of Saratoga is inviting the public to its Arbor Day 2013 celebration at 3 p.m. today Wednesday, April 24 at Saratoga Library, 13650 Saratoga Ave.

The event will include live music, children's activities, advice from local tree experts and an announcement about the Arbor Day poster contest winners.

Students in kindergarten through 12th grade were invited to enter the competition, which was sponsored by the City of Saratoga in honor of Arbor Day 2013.

Winners in three different grade categories will receive a $50 gift certificate. The posters will displayed at the library community room during the event.

Attendees can also take home a goodie bag and a bag of compost.
