Saratoga Flags at Half-Staff to Honor Boston Marathon Attack Victims
Ceremonial gesture to remain in place until sunset Saturday, April 20.
The City of Saratoga is flying its flags at half-staff at its Civic Center, 13777 Fruitvale Ave., through sunset Saturday, April 20 to honor and remember the victims of the April 15 bombing of the Boston Marathon.
A city staffer, who declined to be identified, said the flags have been lowered in accordance with the Presidential Proclamation, which President Barack Obama issued April 16.
President Obama ordered that the flag be flown at half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the federal government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its territories and possessions, according to the proclamation.
