Saratoga High School Student is South Bay Teen Idol Semifinalist
Meghna Chakraborty was among 20 budding artists who participated in the Feb. 28 elimination round at Addison-Penzak Jewish Community Center in Los Gatos.

Chakraborty, a sophomore, performed with some of the area's most talented teenage vocalists who were chosen at auditions in January.
A total of 10 finalists now advance to the finals on April 20.

The winner will receive a $2,500 scholarship and $500 for their school during the competition, which is similar to the popular Fox TV show American Idol.
The second annual contest is open to teens in grades 8-12 in Santa
Clara and Santa Cruz counties. Ticket prices are $10 adult, $5 student/child if you bring a can of food for Second Harvest Food Bank. Without cans of food, prices are $20/adult, $10 student/child.
