- Loves to perform and has participated in her school's variety shows and musicals
- Member of Destination Imagination team
- Has been playing tennis since she was 5 years old
- Member of Team Take a Guess
- Won first place with Team Take a Guess at the Silicon Valley regional Destination Imagination contest March 2 and second place in the same state-level competition March 23 in San Diego.
- Qualified for the Global Finals international competition in Knoxville, TN May 22-25.

She and her friends came up with the idea to help an underserved population and produced a creative project that involved acting, filming a movie and creating a press conerence, according to proud mom Joanne Quan.

"It has been a joy to watch her confidence grow with each competition," said Quan. "Katie is organized and studious which make her an excellent student. Being able to combine her organizational and creative skills with success will make her want to tackle more projects in the future. We look forward to seeing what she can accomplish in the future."
Her other interests are art and tennis.
