School: Fifth-grader at Foothill Elementary School, 13919 Lynde Ave. in Saratoga

Accomplishments:

• Served as Foothill Elementary School Council vice president and president
• Has worked on a number of films including Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, X-Men: First Class and Wolfman
• Regular voiceover for Build-a-Bear Workshop (UK) commercials
• Was the Queen of Hearts in Foothill Elementary School's recent musical "Alice Jnr"
• Aspires to be a National Geographic photographer
• Fences at the California Fencing Academy
• Plays the flute
• Has run two 5Ks for charity 

Key to Awesomeness: Alena has always been a free spirit that just seems to spread sunshine wherever she goes, says proud mother Helen Jarrett in an email interview.

"Notoriously quick witted and never needs much of an excuse to make someone smile. When she isn't doing school work or acting, Alena can often be found drawing or writing funny poems or ... when a smile is needed ... having a 'dance break' with her mother," Helen Jarrett said.

Born in England, she is also commonly known as "that one with the accent," says mom. "Alena is also a very caring and faithful friend who would will always speak up for those who can't find their voice."
