Green receptacles along Big Basin Way encourage patrons to be eco friendly.
We hadn't noticed them before, but we did Thursday.
Along Big Basin Way, from Highway 9 all the way to Fifth Street are green metal receptacles that clearly display the word "recycling" on them.
What can you throw in them? Paper, plastic and aluminum.

West Valley Collection and Recycling is the city's refuse contractor and does a weekly pick-up of the materials, which are spared from regular trash containers by environmentally conscious patrons.
There are many. We saw several properly disposing of their empty water and soda bottles in the containers while on a pleasant walk along the popular street in downtown Saratoga.
