Saratoga's 2nd Annual Scarecrow Competition
We hope to see Saratoga residents, businesses, non-profits, and groups participate!
When pumpkin spice makes its way to coffee shops, and orange-yellow decor starts popping up at stores—you know fall is coming! And in Saratoga, that means it's time to start dreaming up the design, gathering the materials, and getting the family excited to create your own unique scarecrow for the town’s annual Scarecrow Competition!
The Saratoga Chamber of Commerce, Saratoga Rotary Club, and Saratoga Area Senior Coordinating Council invite you to participate in the Second Annual Saratoga Scarecrow Competition!
Participating is simple—craft a homemade scarecrow, display it in your yard, in front of your business, or outside your organization for the whole month of October, snap a photo of it, and send it to info@saratogachamber.org along with your name, email address, phone number, and what category you’d like to enter by October 25 for a chance to win a $50 gift card to a local Saratoga restaurant of your choice!

There are four categories: most creative, funniest, most enchanting, and scariest. Contest submissions will be posted on the Saratoga Chamber’s website, www.saratogachamber.org, by October 26, and the public will have until 12 noon on October 28 to vote for their favorites in each category. Winners will receive a phone call on October 28 from the scarecrow committee and will be invited to an exclusive reception at the Saratoga Chamber of Commerce on October 29 to pick up their gift card and a winner certificate. All Saratoga residents, businesses, and organizations are welcome to submit a scarecrow.
Winners will also be featured on the websites of the competition organizers, and in an upcoming edition of The Outlook Newspaper.

Folks went all out for the competition's first year in 2020 with scarecrow designs like cowgirls, beekeepers, skeletons, doctors, surfers, witches, astronauts, chefs, and more.
Only homemade, one-of-a-kind scarecrows will be considered for this competition, although store-bought scarecrows are a good base to start with for those who don’t feel like stuffing one from scratch. It’s a family-fun activity, and a chance to beautify Saratoga this fall.
