Shop Saratoga Village on Black Friday!

Most merchants will stay open until 9 p.m. Nov. 23 with wine tasting hours also extended; three popular downtown restaurants provide valet parking 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Saratoga Village merchants are hoping local residents will patronize the quaint historic downtown area for Black Friday sales and holiday season shopping.

According to Saratoga Chamber of Commerce President Debra Cummins, the retailers are small mom-and-pot type of operations that need the support of the local community to stay afloat and make money.

Located along Big Basin Way, between Highway 9 and Sixth Street, the businesses are having extended hours during the shopping season kick-off Nov. 23, as well as other perks.

"They're one-of-a-kind type of shops. You won't see their products at the mall. If you're looking for something special, Saratoga Village is the place to get it," Cummins said. "Plus you shop and dine in a beautiful setting."

Sharmaine Nunes, the office manager of the Saratoga Chamber of Commerce, said the local merchants will have varying opening times, but will stay open until 9 p.m.

Wine tasting hours, themselves, at Village Tasting Rooms, which are normally 5-8 p.m., have been extended to 9 p.m.

Nunes said small business support is also critical during the third annual national Small Business Saturday.

Josh Weeks, from the Plumed Horse Restaurant, said valet parking will be available for shoppers who want to dine at Village restaurants such as his eatery, 14555 Big Basin Way; The Basin, 14471 Big Basin Way; and La Fondue, 14550 Big Basin Way No. 3. The hours will be 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
