West Valley Light Opera Presents Annie

Don't miss this beloved family musical at the Saratoga Civic Theatre through Dec. 8.

The West Valley Light Opera Association presents the beloved family musical, "Annie," about a spunky orphan who beats the Depression-era blues with optimism, charm and a song in her heart, 8 p.m. through Dec. 8 at the Saratoga Civic Theatre, 13777 Fruitvale Ave., in Saratoga.

Tickets are $33 on opening night gala; $29-$31 general admission; $27-$29 seniors and students; $18 children under 12. Details: 408-268-3777.

According to the event page on the association's website, "Annie" opened on Broadway in 1977 and it became the third longest-running musical of the 1970s with 10 Tony nominations and seven wins, including Best Musical.

"Annie has enjoyed a Broadway revival, national tours and countless productions around the globe each year," the opera said on its page promoting the musical.

The delightful score includes memorable songs such as "It's A Hard Knock Life," "Tomorrow," "Easy Street," "I Don't Need Anything But You" and the title song, "Annie."
