What Should Go Here?
Former gas station property remains empty at corner of Lawrence Expressway and Saratoga Avenue.

A bright red sign with white letters announces that the empty lot at the corner of Lawrence Expressway and Saratoga Avenue is "available."
It tells the public to call Jeff at 530-521-0608 for information about the space, which is sectioned off with a chain-link fence.
The empty lot is conveniently located next to El Paseo de Saratoga Shopping Center on the edge of town.
"I'm looking to ground lease it to whoever," said Chico-based developer Jeff Farrar when contacted to inquire about the space.
Farrar, who has a local partner, said a Shell gas station operated out of the space, but it closed two years ago.
"We've been working on the environmental cleanup," Farrar said, explaining that due to it being a gas station there was some soil contamination. However, a clearance from Santa Clara County officials is coming soon, he added.
The property is zoned for commercial uses and it's address is located in San Jose, he said.
The lot is about 15,000 square feet and Farrar would lease it year to year to any approved use under the commercial zoning, which could be a coffee shop, a florist, a car rental, or any other similar venture.
