What to Expect From Tonight's Saratoga City Council Meeting

The Saratoga City Council meets tonight at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 16, at the Civic Theatre/Council Chambers, 13777 Fruitvale Ave., to discuss the following:

• Commendation honoring the Saratoga Historical Museum and Linda Hagelin, education program director for the museum.
• Commendation proclaiming January 2013 as National Blood Donor Month
• Presentation on Highway 85 Express Lane Project

On the consent agenda, which allows the five-member body to approve items with one vote, are:

• Resolution authorizing the filing of a grant application to inventory city maintained trees at Hakone Gardens

On the public hearing portion of the agenda are:

• Definition of market
• Hazardous Vegetation Program resolution
• Receive direction on changes to the tree regulations to facilitate the removal of dead and fallen trees
• Spring 2013 issue of The Saratogan
• 2013 City Council summer recess
