Winning $750K Scratchers Ticket Sold At Bascom Avenue Gas Station
The winning ticket was purchased as a birthday present!
A California Lottery Scratchers ticket recently purchased in San Jose as a birthday present ended up a $750,000 winner.
Winner Benjamin Mayberry received the $30 California Lottery 30th Scratchers ticket for his birthday from his fiancé, according to California Lottery officials.
“She forgot that she bought it for me but remembered and gave it to me the night of my birthday. My fiancé kept asking if I’d won anything and I said that I might have,” Mayberry said.

The ticket was purchased at the Chevron station at 910 Bascom Ave. in San Jose.
Mayberry said the winnings will help pay for his upcoming wedding, and he’s not sure what else he’s going to do with the rest of the money, according to lottery officials.
