Woman Crashes Car into Saratoga's Gene's Fine Foods
Nobody is injured, but market's front window near entrance is badly damaged.

A woman crashed into Gene's Fine Foods, 18850 Cox Ave., Tuesday afternoon at about 5 p.m. seriously damaging a portion of the market's entrance, shattering glass and alarming shoppers inside.
Gene's Fine Foods supervisor Dave Rapson said nobody was injured during the accident, but said the woman drove her vehicle up on the curb of Cox Avenue and instead of hitting the brake, she hit the gas pedal.
"She drove up onto our curb and hit the concrete trash can up front and it sent that into our store through the window," Rapson said.
The impact also pushed a pallet of watermelons through the window near the door on the left entrance door, he added.
"I came up front and it [the accident] had already happened. The frame of the window was damaged and there's glass everywhere right now. We're cleaning it up."
Saratoga Patch blogger and contributor Michelle McIntyre said she was inside the store when the accident happened and thought it was a shelf or something loudly crashed at the market.
She said a Santa Clara County fire truck was on the scene. "Curious to know what was up. I was shopping during the crash but on the other side if the store near produce. I hope people are okay," she wrote in an email alerting us about the crash.
Rapson said three sheriff's deputies also responded to the scene and took a report of the accident.
