2 Men Arrested During Vehicle Burglaries' Investigation: Felton

The two men were booked on various drug charges, warrants, probation violations and evading law enforcement.

FELTON, CA — Two people were arrested early Thursday in Felton while deputies were responding to reports of several vehicle break-ins in the area.

Two males, Cody Baxter, 26, of Scotts Valley, and Shane Burns, 27, of Santa Cruz, were taken into custody after they allegedly tried to flee from deputies.

Santa Cruz County deputies were canvassing the area of Valley Drive and Plateau Drive in Felton after the reported break-ins when they spotted a car possibly matching a description of the suspect vehicle.

When deputies tried to stop the car, the driver kept going. A low-speed pursuit ensued before the driver and passenger, later identified as Baxter and Burns, were eventually arrested on Gail Drive in Felton.

The two men were booked on various drug charges, warrants, probation violations and evading law enforcement.

As of Thursday afternoon, neither man had been charged with any vehicle burglaries. The investigation is ongoing.
