• UC Santa Cruz student ID'd in fatal West Cliff Drive car crash (amedpost.com) — A fatal crash off West Cliff Drive in Santa Cruz claimed the life of UC Santa Cruz student Alli Renee Singh, with Scotts Valley Fire sending a battalion chief to assist in the massive overnight rescue response. Crews from multiple agencies battled heavy surf to reach the submerged car, while the driver survived with minor injuries. The tragedy has shaken the campus and wider community.
