• Scotts Valley Water District Board approves rate increase, rate structure changes (myscottsvalley.com) — Scotts Valley Water District has approved a five-year series of water rate increases starting January 1, 2027, to maintain aging pipes and fund major upgrades. For a typical single-family home in Scotts Valley, the monthly bill is expected to rise about $7.61 to $99.34, with fewer usage tiers and expanded assistance programs for low-income and medical-need customers.
• An outline of the Scotts Valley State of the City address (santacruzsentinel.com) — Scotts Valley leaders just outlined big changes ahead, from the long-awaited Town Center project to new affordable housing on Scotts Valley Drive and Mount Hermon Road. The address also highlighted upgraded parks, safer streets, stronger city finances, a proposed hotel tax hike, and major investments in local schools, police, fire protection, and water infrastructure that directly affect daily life in Scotts Valley.
• Serra Crystal Springs Invitational 2026 (milesplit.com) — Scotts Valley High runners turned in strong performances at Saturday's Serra Crystal Springs Invitational in Belmont, with several Falcons placing well in varsity and JV races. Local standout Hanna Shehorn won the championship girls race, and multiple Scotts Valley teammates posted competitive times that helped keep the school visible among larger Bay Area programs.
