Calling All Golfers for Local Cancer Fundraiser July 23

Help New Leaf Raise $30K for Local Cancer Services and Research at New Leaf's Taste at the Tee at the Seascape Golf Club

Santa Cruz Cancer Benefit Group (SCCBG) will be the beneficiary of New Leaf’s Taste at the Tee golf tournament fundraiser again this year. The fourth annual event will take place on Thursday, July 23 at Seascape Golf Club in Aptos. This action-packed event features lunch, shot-gun scramble, tastes of food, beer and wine around the course, dinner, silent auction, raffle and prizes. New Leaf is currently seeking players and sponsors as well as donations for the auction and raffle. Registration starts at 10 am with tee-off at 12:30 pm.

New Leaf’s Taste at the Tee has raised over $57,000 for local nonprofits since it was launched in 2012. “Last year, with the help of our sponsors, we were able to raise more than $26,000 for Santa Cruz Cancer Benefit Group. This year our goal is to raise $30,000 for SCCBG, which they will in turn distribute to their six local beneficiaries that either support people living with cancer, or fund important research,” said New Leaf Community Markets’ Marketing Director Sarah Owens. The beneficiaries are Hospice of Santa Cruz, Jacob’s Heart Children’s Cancer Association, Katz Cancer Resource Center, Teen Kitchen Project, UC Santa Cruz Fellowship for Cancer Research, and WomenCARE.

“The Santa Cruz Cancer Benefit Group is proud to be the sole beneficiary of New Leaf Community Markets “Taste at the Tee” golf tournament for the second consecutive year. New Leaf’s long-time commitment to SCCBG is key to our ability to provide financial support to our local cancer support and research beneficiaries,”said long-time SCCBG Board Member Terry Hardin.
