It’s that time of year again, the time when everyone likes to think they have a bit of Irish in them, while they celebrate with corned beef and green beer. This year the holiday falls on a Saturday, meaning a whole weekend’s worth of donning green garb and celebrating. Locally, there are many celebrations taking place. So whether you are in the mood for a rowdy party where you can drink green beer until you are seeing leprechauns or something a little more mild and family-friendly, we’ve got you covered. Here are our picks for local St. Paddy’s Day celebrations:

Friday

Where/When: , 4402 Scotts Valley Dr. Friday, all day beginning at 11 a.m.

What: Love the green, the food, the music, but not the hoopla of St. Paddy's Day? Well, Malone’s has you covered. The restaurant will be serving its tasty corned beef and cabbage dish and corned beef and Reuben sandwiches all day. The Roving Irish Singers will also perform from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

What: This fourth-annual event is the perfect place to take the family for a great Irish meal and good, wholesome fun. The festivities begin with appetizers and drinks from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., then it’s on to the corned
beef and cabbage dinner from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. After that, it’s all about fun as Irish entertainment will be provided and the Pot of Gold raffle drawing will take place. Raffle tickets are $5 per ticket or Six for $25, and prizes include $100 gift certificates from Zinnia's, Bruno's BBQ, Cycle Sport and more.

Price: $25 per person.

Saturday

Where/When: , 4402 Scotts Valley Dr. Saturday, all day beginning at 11 a.m.

What: Malone’s will be hosting its 32nd annual St. Paddy’s Day celebration with things happening throughout the day. On the food front, the restaurant will be serving its tasty corned beef and cabbage dish and corned beef and Reuben sandwiches all day. The Roving Irish Singers will perform from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. inside, and Scotts Valley’s very own SPIGOT will perform from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the patio. Green Harp beer, Irish coffee and Guinness will be on tap.

Price: There is no cover charge but food and drinks will be available at various prices.

Where/When: Poetic Cellars, 5000 N. Rodeo Gulch Rd., Soquel. Saturday, noon.

What: St. Paddy’s Day is usually all about beer, but the folks at Poetic Cellars are changing that. To celebrate the holiday, there will be live Irish music and barrel tasting. They are also doing something a little unusual and very cool—a potato chip and wine pairing tasting—all weekend long.

Price: Tasting fee is $5. Wine is available to purchase at various prices.

Where/When: , 2364 Bean Creek Rd. Saturday, noon-5 p.m.

What: The Scotts Valley winery will celebrate St. Patrick's Day with its annual Irish cheese and wine tasting event. Friend in Cheeses Jam Company will be offering a wide variety of Irish cheeses and handmade jams for you to taste and pair with Skov wines. Other local vendors will be offering scrumptious Irish-themed samples, such as Irish cream chocolates and honey. The winery will also have its very own Blarney Stone for kissing.

Price: The tasting fee is $15 per person, or $10 per person for Skov Wine Club members.
