"Durang & A Dollar" A Night of One Act Plays will feature three plays in one fabulous night of entertainment. The lineup consists of The Actor's Nightmare By Christopher Durang and Directed by Luke Thornley, A Dollar By David Pinski and Directed by Zephaniah Rhoads, and Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All For You By Christopher Durang and Directed by Philomena Block.
Uh…. Line! Have you ever had a nightmare that you were thrust in front of a crowd of thousands without knowing where you are or what to say> How would you like to get the chance to confront a teacher you hated to the bone? Or have you ever wanted to challenge social preconceptions and find the true value of a dollar? Well at Scotts Valley High School's "Durang & A Dollar" A Night of One Act Plays, these questions come to life! The night is compiled of three student directed plays showcasing clever combination of comedy, calamity, and controversy. The Actor's Nightmare follows the dream (nightmare) of George Spevin an accountant who is forced to perform without knowing who or where he is. A Dollar, a physical comedy about a gang of characters fighting over a newly found dollar. Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All For You is a controversial dark comedy following Sister Mary Ignatius, and four of her ex students journey to embarrass her and expose Sister Mary of her awful teaching methods. "Durang & A Dollar" A Night of One Act Plays has something for everyone, and is not to be missed!
