It’s Thursday, and you have no idea what you’ll do for the weekend. Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for activities to hit and new bars/restaurants/shops to explore.
1. A VALENTINE'S WEEKEND OF BEATLES MUSIC
Where/When: Kuumbwa Jazz Center, 320 Cedar St., Friday and Saturday, doors open at 7 p.m.

Why Go: Because it's the Beatles music. Is there anyone who doesn't like the Beatles or doesn't have a memory linked to some Beatle song? This is a weekend of BEATLES music performed on mostly acoustic instruments—selections included from the last seven albums—Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's, Magical Mystery Tour, The “White” Album, Let it Be and Abbey Road, with an accent on beautiful melodies, acoustic guitars, grand piano and rich, vocal sounds.
Pricing: Tickets are $25.

2. TAKE A NIGHT OFF AND HELP FIGHT CANCER!
Where/When: , 230 Mt. Hermon Rd., Friday, 6-9 p.m.
Why Go: So here's the deal—you get some time out to do what you want and you get to help a good cause along the way. Drop off your kids for three hours, and your fees help raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Children over the age of 6 only, and space will be limited to 20. Pizza dinner will be provided. And you get three hours out!
Pricing: Suggested donation is $25 per child, $40 for two children and $10 for any additional child.
3. DINNER WITH YOUR VALENTINE
Where/When: , 6001 La Madrona Dr., Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday; call for dinner reservations
Why Go: To get a special Valentine's Day dinner, even if you get there before Valentine's Day. The restaurant will serve a two-course dinner with a special Valentine’s dessert for two. Get away for a special night and a special meal.
Pricing: $44.95 per person and an additional $19.95 for wine pairing with each course.
4. WINE TASTING FOR CHOCOLATE LOVERS
Where/When: Roudon-Smith Winery, 2364 Bean Creek Rd., Saturday, noon-5 p.m.
Why Go: Celebrate Valentine's Day with a "Valen-Tasting" event. Roudon-Smith Winery will offer award-winning wines for tasting, each paired with a variety of chocolate treats from local chocolate makers. This is a truly decadent "Duet" wine and chocolate event.
Pricing: Tickets are $15 per person and include wine tasting, scrumptious chocolate sweets and a souvenir glass. The fee is $5 for wine club members and their guests.
5. ROMANCE IN THE REDWOODS
Where/When: Big Basin Redwoods State Park, 1600 Big Basin Way, Boulder Creek, Sunday, 11 a.m.
Why go: Just in time for Valentine's Day, join the Santa Cruz State Park Department for Romance in the Redwoods. Come out to Big Basin Redwoods State Park for an easy one-hour walk and learn about courtship, mating and reproduction behaviors of banana slugs, newts and woodpeckers!
