Where/When: , 7 Camp Evers Lane. Sunday, 10-11 a.m.
Why Go: We wrote about this in our kids’ planner because we wanted to be sure everyone knew about this fundraiser. But this is the way that you can do something for yourself and do something to help Bryan Stow and his family. One to One Health, a new personal training and group fitness class studio, is offering a special three-part class that will get you feeling better in more ways than one. It's a class that everyone can do and 90 percent of the fees you pay will go to the Stow family.
Pricing: $15, but larger donations are encouraged and accepted.
Where/When: Roaring Camp, 5355 Graham Hill Rd., Felton. Saturday, Sunday, Monday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Why Go: This Memorial Day weekend marks the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War and 30th year of Civil War Battles and Encampment at Roaring Camp. Experience the closest thing to what it was like during the Civil War with this reenactment. Battles are at 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and 2 p.m. Monday. Roaring Camp’s steam trains depart each day at 11 a.m., 12:30, 2 and 3:30 p.m.
Pricing: $5 for the reenactment; parking is $8; and the steam train ride is $24 for adults and $17 for children age 2 to 12.
Where/When: , 701 West Cliff Dr., Santa Cruz. Friday, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Why Go: We mentioned this in our kids’ planner, but who are we kidding, surfing is about us adults, too, especially when we are taking a look back 25 years. If you have lived on the beach or near it, you have got to have some affinity for the surf culture, even if you haven't surfed yourself. Help the museum celebrate its 25th anniversary.
