Get Out in Scotts Valley: Wine, Artists, Dogs and Chickens

A wine tasting that is a fundraiser for animal rescue groups, a meet-and-greet with artists, a class on raising chickens, the closing night of the Santa Cruz Film Festival and a show with Angela Davis and Corey Harris are our weekend Get Out suggestions.

Where/When: 2364 Bean Creek Rd. Saturday, noon-4:30 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy some wine and a good time, and show your support for the Monterey County SPCA and Unconditional Love Animal Rescue of San Jose. You'll help pet rescue, and for your efforts, you'll get to sample great wines and great food, hear the music of past Grammy nominee Robert Berry with Paul Kellor, and the Last Band Standing cover band winners, the Groove Kings.
