Well, join Malone’s for their all new Trivia Night every Thursday to find out the answers these and other burning questions. Participants can play individually or in groups. And if the thought of expanding your knowledge base of random facts isn’t enough to get you to play, there will also be prizes and food and drink specials.
Price: It is free to play. Food and drinks will be available for purchase off of the menu at various prices, and there will also be $1 taco and $5 margarita specials.

What: The Scotts Valley Exchange Club is sponsoring its annual talent show and is looking for great local talent. Children ages 4-18 are encouraged to participate. The winner of each section (primary, junior and secondary) will go on to the regional competition, and those winners will go on to the finals in the Palm Springs area. Big Basin Redwood State Park Events
Where/When: Big Basin, 21600 Big Basin Way, Boulder Creek. What’s that Bird event, Saturday, 10:30 a.m.; Creeping Forest Ramble, Sunday, noon
What: The state park is hosting two really cool events this weekend. What’s that Bird is an easy, 1-mile stroll through the redwoods with docent Karen DeMello, who will introduce you to the birds of the forest. Beginner birders are welcome. Participants should bring binoculars if they have them and meet at the park’s headquarters.
The Creeping Forest Ramble is a three-hour, 2.5-mile hike up and down the creeping terrain of the redwood forest. Participants will explore the natural history of less-visited trails with docent Doreen Devorah as they
hike along creeks, fire-scarred redwoods and over log bridges. Bring water,
good hiking shoes and meet at the park’s headquarters.

Where/When: City of Scotts Valley Community Center, 360 Kings Village Rd. Saturday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
