Trivia Night at Malone’s Grille

Where/When: Malone’s Grille, 4402 Scotts Valley Dr. Thursday, 7 p.m.

What: Which system is responsible for the flow of the blood in the human body? Which country has the largest population? Not sure? Well, join Malone’s for Trivia Night every Thursday to find out the answers these and other burning questions. Participants can play individually or in groups. And if the thought of expanding your knowledge base of random facts isn’t enough to get you to play, there will also be prizes and food and drink specials.

Price: It is free to play. Food and drinks will be available for purchase off of the menu at various prices, and there will also be $1 taco and $5 margarita specials.

Wine and Chocolate Benefit

Where/When: Bruno’s BBQ, 230 Mt. Hermon Rd. Saturday, 2-5 p.m.

What: This is the second-annual fundraising wine and chocolate tasting for San Lorenzo Valley High School's Grad Night festivities. Along with five wine tastings and chocolate, the event will include a silent auction, raffle and live music.

Price: Tickets are $15 and include a crystal wine glass.

The 31st Annual Clam Chowder Cook Off & Festival

Where/When: Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, 400 Beach St., Santa Cruz. Saturday, 1-4 p.m.

What: This annual event brings talented professional and amateur chefs from all over the west coast to compete for the glory of being crowned clam chowder champion. With the cook off set at the picturesque Santa Cruz Boardwalk, this is a local event not to be missed.

Price: Admission is free. Tasting kits can be purchased for $9.

Roaring Camp Rain Forest Weekends

Where/When: Roaring Camp, 5401 Graham Hill Rd., Felton. Saturday and Sunday, various times.

Why Go: Take an exciting ride on an antique steam train through California’s forest of coastal redwoods. As you sit back and enjoy the scenery, fascinating information about forest ecology and seasonal changes will be given.

Cost: Tickets are $24 for adults and $17 for children, and can be purchased at www.roaringcamp.com.
