Here are our suggestions for five things to do in and around Scotts Valley this weekend, maybe even before the weekend gets started!

It's Thursday, which means the weekend is fast approaching, and as always, you are wondering what you might do. We've got five suggestions for you that we hope you'll enjoy. There's a lot going on this weekend, so "GET OUT" and enjoy yourself.

Where/When: Louden Nelson Auditorium, 301 Center St., Santa Cruz, Saturday, doors open at 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: To support your very own Scotts Valley Performing Arts. You can't miss it! You'll have a good time while doing something for Scotts Valley community arts. Some of the best talent in Santa Cruz County will come together for an evening of song, dance and laughter as Scotts Valley Performing Arts presents its fifth-annual Broadway Cabaret.

 Pricing: $20; $15 for students and seniors.

Where/When: Malone’s Grille, 4402 Scotts Valley Dr., Saturday, 9 p.m.

Why Go: Because everyone loves to channel their inner star on the karaoke stage. And even if you don’t want to sing, it’s always fun to watch and cheer on others while enjoying Malone’s full dinner menu and bar.

Pricing: Food and drinks from Malone’s menu are available for purchase, and the karaoke is free.

Where/When: , 1001 Center St., Santa Cruz, Sunday, 6-9 p.m.

Why Go: Great food, great company, great wine and great cooking at The Sunday Supper Sessions with Felton’s own MasterChef Jake Gandolfo. Dinner is a five-course meal, which Gandolfo will discuss course by course with diners.

Pricing:  $40

Where/When: 5000 N. Rodeo Gulch Rd., Soquel, Saturday and Sunday, noon-5 p.m.

Why Go: It's nearby, it's convenient and it’s relaxing and charming. Winemaker Katy Lovell creates bottled poetry with a poem on every bottle. Go to Poetry Cellars and get wine and a poem in one romantic bottle.

Pricing: $5 tasting fee, refund with purchase.

Where/When: , 1156 High St., Santa Cruz, (Music Center Recital Hall), Friday, 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: Guest conductor Yair Samet leads UCSC's orchestra in works by Brahms, Mozart and Beethoven.

Pricing: $10 general; $8 senior 62+; $6 students.
