K-9 Cop Smells Drugs At Traffic Stop; Motorist Arrested
The 20-year-old was stopped for non-working headlights.

A 20-year-old man was arrested over the weekend in Scotts Valley when a police K-9 smelled drugs during a traffic stop, police said.
At about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle with inoperable headlights near a Bank of America branch in the city.
During the stop, the police dog smelled the exterior of the vehicle and alerted officers to the possible presence of a narcotic odor, according to police.

Officers searched the car, found evidence associated with the alleged sale of marijuana and prescription medication and arrested William Eugene Weist on suspicion of the drug possession offenses.
