Scotts Police, Fire Invite Residents To 'National Night Out'

The Scotts Police Department and Scotts Valley Fire District are celebrating Tuesday's event with a free BBQ.

SCOTTS VALLEY, CA — Thousands of law enforcement agencies across the nation are taking part in the annual National Night Out on Tuesday to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.

" ... it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances," the National Night Out website reads.

In Scotts Valley, there will be an opportunity to participate at Mac Dorsa Park, 1 Civic Center Drive, from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday. Meet Scotts Valley police officers and firefighters during the free, family friendly event that includes BBQ with hot dogs, refreshments, watermelon, popcorn and more. A bounce house, face painting, petting zoo, corn hole, bean bag toss, and a friendly game of tug-of-war will also be happening.

The police department and fire district will be giving demonstrations and station tours, and there will be tours of city founder Hiram Scott’s home.

The event is being sponsored by the Scotts Valley Advocates and hosted by the Scotts Valley Police Department and Scotts Valley Fire District.
