Scotts Valley 4-H Guitar Group Wins Gold in State Competition
State Field Day brought top award for three Scotts Valley 4-H kids.

Scotts Valley 4-H Club members Cade Gillen, 12, Jonathan Schulze, 10, and Galina Lee Cantey, 14, won gold medals at the State 4-H Field Day in Davis, CA on May 26th.
The three participated in the Beginning Guitar Project led by Mindy Gillen. Their guitar presentation included each member demonstrating skills learned during the project like parts of the guitar, three chords, and strumming. The group then performed a song with the audience singing along.
The 4-H organization encourages youth to develop their public-speaking skills and offers Presentation Days each year to showcase their work.
