Scotts Valley Ranked 16th Safest California City: NCHSS

A total of 265 California cities were included in the rankings.

SCOTTS VALLEY, CA — According to the National Council for Home Safety and Security, Scotts Valley is one of the safest cities in California — 16th overall.

The NCHSS's methodology included data about violent crimes and property crimes using the most recent FBI Uniform Crime Report statistics.

A total of 265 California cities were included in the NCHSS rankings. California was listed as the 21st safest state in the nation.

A total of 7,639 cities nationwide — with populations ranging from 7,639 to 4,007,147 — were factored into the NCHSS report. NCHSS said it eliminated cities that failed to submit a complete crime report to the FBI and removed cities with populations under 10,000.
