WATCH: Section of Highway 17 Closed Due to Mudslide

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — A mudslide has closed a section of northbound Highway 17 at Vine Hill Road, police officials said via social media. Drivers are asked to avoid the area. There is no estimate of when the roads will reopen.

In Santa Clara County, state Highway 152 has been closed between Pole Line Road in Santa Cruz County and Watsonville Road, near Gilroy. Currently, there is no estimated time for when the highway would reopen, according to Caltrans.

An alternate plan for the evening commute is recommended.
