Suspect arrested after spotted in the store allegedly loading loot into a duffel bag, officials said.

SCOTTS VALLEY, CA – A woman was arrested last month after an alert citizen at Kmart noticed her reportedly stuffing a duffel bag with multiple items, then leaving the Scotts Valley store without paying, police said.

The Scotts Valley Police Department was called Dec. 23 as the female left the Mt. Hermon Road business in a gray sedan. Officers spied the vehicle heading east on Mt. Hermon, and pulled the woman over at the nearby Shell station, police said.

Numerous bags containing the stolen items allegedly were located in the car. The female was taken into custody, and her male passenger was arrested on unrelated charges, police said.
