Solo Crash In Santa Cruz Kills San Jose Woman
A San Jose woman was killed in a car crash transitioning between two highways in Santa Cruz on Monday afternoon, according to the CHP.

SANTA CRUZ - A San Jose woman was killed in a single car crash transitioning between two highways in Santa Cruz on Monday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The 23-year-old woman was by herself driving a 2011 Honda Civic on a transition road between northbound state Highway 1 and northbound state Highway 17 around 4:30 p.m. when she lost control of the vehicle, CHP officials said.
The car went west off the road and the driver's side crashed into a tree, according to the CHP. The Honda then overturned before it landed in a ditch.

The woman suffered major injuries and was transported by ambulance to Dominican Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, according to the CHP.
Her name was not immediately available.

Investigators have not determined if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, CHP officials said.
