Boy Found Dead After Scotts Valley Search
"It is with a heavy heart that we must relay that Jack was found deceased today," the Scotts Valley Police Department said.

SCOTTS VALLEY, CA – A teen boy who went missing Sunday morning in Scotts Valley has been found dead. Police have not released details but have confirmed that the body of 15-year-old Jack DeBord was found Monday.
"It is with a heavy heart that we must relay that Jack was found deceased today," the Scotts Valley Police Department said shortly after 5:30 p.m. Monday. "While foul play is not apparent at this time, an investigation is still under way. We ask that you please respect the privacy of the family at this time."
According to Sgt. Wayne Bellville of the Scott's Valley Police Department, the boy was found around 3 p.m. in a wooded area not far from his home.

"It was in his neighborhood," Bellville said, adding that the police department is grateful for the community support and outpouring on what has been a difficult day.
Police had been asking for the public's help in finding the teen who was last seen leaving his Scotts Valley neighborhood on foot to walk to a nearby bus stop on Mt. Hermon Road. He was supposed to be heading to work on the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, but he never showed up and family and friends had not heard from him.

According to a social media post from a family member, the boy was supposed to work a 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. job shift, and it wasn't like him to just disappear.
The 5’10” teen with brown hair and brown eyes had last been seen wearing khaki pants, a dark t-shirt/polo and black skate shoes. According to a family member, he didn't have a phone.
