Thunderstorms Roll Through Scotts Valley, Bay Area
Wind speeds in Scotts Valley ranged from 10 to 20 miles per hour on Thursday night and early Friday morning.

Thunderstorms rolled through the Bay Area Thursday night and early Friday morning, causing flight delays and slippery road conditions, authorities said.
At midnight Thursday, Scotts Valley had a wind speed of 14 miles per hour, thunderstorms, and a temperature of 45 degrees, according to weather.com. Throughout the night, wind speeds were predicted to fluctuate between 10 to 20 miles per hour, with rainfall near half an inch.
A good portion of Santa Cruz County and the Peninsula saw scattered storms with a lot of lightening Thursday, National Weather Service forecaster Diana Henderson said.

The thunderstorms caused delays of one to two hours for flights at San Francisco International Airport, an airport duty manager said.
Mostly coastal flights have been affected by the stormy weather. Airport officials expect service to resume on schedule Friday morning. Henderson said the thunderstorms are expected to continue Friday morning and the Bay Area will likely see more isolated showers throughout the day Friday.
