Two Workers Hit, One Fatally, Near Mudslide on Highway 17
BREAKING: CHP officials said one man was pinned under a work truck.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA — One worker was killed and another pinned under a truck on state Highway 17 in the Santa Cruz Mountains this afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol. The two men were working to clear a mudslide on Highway 17 between Vine Hill and Sugarloaf roads.
After the men were hit around noon, the man who was pinned under the work truck was transported to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. Crews from Caltrans and Granite Construction were both on the scene of the mudslide when the crash occurred, CHP Officer Trista Drake said.
