UPDATE On Watsonville DMV Evacuation: Bomb Squad Called To Scene

Suspicious bottle found.

WATSONVILLE, CA - A state Department of Motor Vehicles office in Watsonville has been evacuated because of a suspicious bottle found this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers responded to a report from a DMV employee of a suspicious bottle behind a rear door at the office located at 90 Alta Vista Ave. near Freedom Boulevard around 8 a.m., CHP Officer Elizabeth Addy said.

Everyone inside the building was evacuated, Addy said.

A Monterey County sheriff’s bomb squad was called to the scene to determine the contents of the bottle, according to Addy.

Addy did not know if there were any injuries or evacuations at neighboring buildings.
