Vegetation Fire Breaks Out In Santa Cruz County
Multiple fires and difficult access are slowing response efforts.
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA --Fire crews have contained vegetation fires burning in the community of Bonny Doon, according to Cal Fire's San Mateo-Santa Cruz unit. Santa Cruz County Fire, Scotts Valley Fire District, Central Fire District, Aptos/La Selva Fire District and Zayante Fire District responded to the Smith and Warren fires.
The Warren fire started with a structure fire on Warren Drive that spread to nearby vegetation. Additional fires broke out on the Smith Grade.
