  • The council will hear from the Town Center Subcommittee on one particular area of the Town Center Phasing—senior/affordable housing. The subcommittee feels that a multi-family structure of approximately 40 units for senior and affordable housing could be built on two parcels of land that was purchased with affordable housing funds. The subcommittee is asking the council to approve a recommendation that city staff prepare a Request for Qualifications to be distributed to the Town Center project architects. The RFQ would give the city control over the design of the project.
  • The council will discuss increasing the wastewater rate. The last increase occurred in fiscal year 1995-96. For the 2011-12 budget, wastewater expenditures exceeded revenues by approximately $193,000. This year is the third year in a row of large deficits so the council will look at considering different rate increases.
