What to Expect From Tonight's City Council Meeting

Wednesday night the Scotts Valley City Council will meet at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers, One Civic Center Drive.

- There will be a presentation of the Scotts Valley Arts Commission Poetry Contest winners.
- Members of the Human Care Alliance and the Cultural Council will be making oral presentations to the Council for fiscal year 2012-13 funding assistance. Discretionary funds within the cityβs General Fund are used to fund these programs. The proposed 2012-13 budget includes $45,258 for Human Care Alliance and $1,000 for the Cultural Council, both the same as last year. The Human Care Alliance is requesting a total of $49,883 this year.
- The Council will vote on whether or not to award Group4 Architecture Research + Planning, Inc. a contract to develop concept drawings for a possible multi-purpose auditorium in the empty space next door to the Scotts Valley Library. Group4 worked with the city on the library. The city authorized $10,000 for this project and Group4βs proposal is approximately $6,500 for the service.
