What to Expect From Tonight's City Council Meeting

The council will hold a public hearing on and then vote on raising wastewater rates.

Wednesday night the Scotts Valley City Council will meet at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers, One Civic Center Drive.

  • The council will hold a public hearing on a wastewater rate increase. Property owners will be given the opportunity to address the council with their issues or concerns on the issue before it is discussed and voted on. The last time rates were increased was in 1995. The current rate for single-family detached homes is $25.15 per month. If approved, the new rate would go into effect on July 1, 2012 and would increase by $1.26 per month.
  • The council will have a discussion on the 2012-13 recreation, senior center and community center budgets.
  • The council will discuss the 2012-13 wastewater and recycling budget, including whether or not to raise wastewater rates.
