What to Expect From Tonight's School Board Meeting

The Scotts Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees will meet at 6 p.m. at the City Council Chambers, One Civic Center Dr. The board is expected to consider the following items:

• The Board will receive information on SVUSD teacher involvement in the Silicon Valley Mathematics initiative for 2011-12. The SVMI is a comprehensive and intensive mathematics professional development initiative for school districts and charter schools. SVUSD was a member district of SVMI for the 2011-12 year. Eight teachers, two from each Scotts Valley school, attended a weeklong professional development institute in August. Two of the teachers will present what they learned.
• The Board will accept information from Superintendent Penny Weaver on the May revise of the 2012-13 California State Budget Act and how it will impact SVUSD.
