What to Expect From Tonight's School Board Meeting

The Scotts Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees will meet at 6 p.m. at the City Council Chambers, One Civic Center Dr. The board is expected to consider the following items:

• The Board will receive information on SB 1381, which changes the kindergarten entry age and requires districts to offer a transitional kindergarten program for the 2012-2013 school year.
• The Board will hear on overview of the 2011 Physical Fitness Test that was administered to grades 5, 7, and 9 between February and May 2011.
• The Board will receive information on the district’s special education summer school program for 2011-2012.
