What to Expect From Tonight's School Board Meeting
Board will discuss options for a possible educational parcel tax.

The Scotts Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees will meet at 6 p.m. at the City Council Chambers, One Civic Center Dr. The board is expected to consider the following items:
- The Board will discuss approving a resolution required by the Williams Act affirming that the District has provided pupils with sufficient textbooks and instructional materials. The Williams Act requires that school boards hold a public hearing before the eighth week of school giving the public an opportunity to discuss the extent to which they feel sufficient materials have been provided.
- The Board will receive information from staff regarding the possibility of holding a special election for an educational parcel tax measure. The Board will discuss its options and give direction to administration on the next steps.
- The Board will discuss adopting a resolution supporting the Scotts Valley Unified School District’s Red Ribbon Week campaign to bring attention to drug-free and healthy lifestyles for students. Red Ribbon Week is scheduled for Oct. 23-31.
