Beer Truck Crash Shuts Down Los Angeles Freeway

The crash took place about 3:20 p.m. on the transition road between two freeways.

SHERMAN OAKS, CA -- One person was injured in a crash involving a semi-truck carrying a load of Budweiser on the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway that temporarily shut down the transition road to the eastbound Ventura (101) Freeway in Sherman Oaks Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash took place about 3:20 p.m. on the transition road between the two freeways, the CHP said.
The big rig overturned, spilling some of the beer, the CHP reported.

One person was transported to a hospital for treatment, Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said.

The CHP issued a SigAlert at 3:34 p.m. There's no word yet as to when the roadway would be cleared.
It appears that only the truck was involved in the crash.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
