Crews Douse Sepulveda Basin Brush Fire

The cause of a brush fire in the Sepulveda Basin Saturday night remains under investigation.

LOS ANGELES, CA — An aggressive firefighting effort involving water-dropping helicopters helped douse a brush fire in the Sepulveda Basin Saturday evening.

The blaze scorched about a half- acre of grass Saturday near 5600 N. Woodley Ave. It was reported at 6:07 p.m. and contained within 27 minutes, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.

Crews will stay on scene to mop-up any hot spots.No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened, he said.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation, he said.
