Crews Knock Down SF Valley Garage Fire

All occupants of the Northridge home escaped uninjured, officials said.

NORTHRIDGE, CA – It took 31 firefighters 21 minutes today to put out a blaze in the garage of a two-story Northridge home, authorities said.

The fire was reported at 12:20 a.m. at 11001 Belmar Ave., said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The garage was well-involved when firefighters arrived but they contained the flames to the garage, Humphrey said.

All of the home's occupants escaped without injury, he said. No firefighters were injured.
