Riley Gantt hopes her lemonade stand will make over $1,000 at the Topanga Vintage Market on Sunday, Sept 23rd. Ambitious? Yes, but for a cause. Sherman Oaks's very own, very young Riley founded Rainbow Pack 2 years ago when she was just 10 years old, to help children at Haddon Elementary get the school supplies she knew they needed. Last year Rainbow Pack donated 1,000 backpacks full of supplies to the school, and this year Riley has even bigger plans!
So in addition to accepting donations and supplies through her website, http://rainbowpack.wordpress.com/mission, Riley has agreed to get to Topanga Vintage Market by 5:30 am this Sunday the 23rd and set up her stand, first selling coffee to the hundreds of bleary eyed vendors setting up their booths full of antiques and vintage, and then selling lemonade and other refreshments to the thousands of shoppers who begin streaming in when the gates open at 8 am. Of course, Mom and Dad will be there to help, along with many other charitable 12 year olds.
So bring your wallet and your thirst and while you're sipping your lemonade you can hunt for treasure in the stalls of Topanga Vintage Market. The 4th Sunday of every month at Westfield Promenade. Admission $2. Kids under 12 free. No pets please!
