Father And Daughter Fatally Electrocuted In Panorama City

The father walked outside after hearing a loud pop, when he came into contact with a downed power line.

PANORAMA CITY, CA — A father and his 20-year-old daughter were fatally electrocuted Monday morning after coming into contact with a downed power line.

According to KTLA, the father went outside after hearing a "loud pop" when the line fell, and was electrocuted after coming into contact with the wire. Shortly after, his daughter went out and to help him, but she too was fatally electrocuted.

Firefighters went to the family's home in the 14700 block of Tupper Street around 2:45 a.m., according to the Fire Department. Paramedics pronounced Ferdinand Tejada, 53, and Janine Reyn Tejada, dead at the scene.

Power was shut off in the immediate area by utility crews, and an investigation into the accident was underway.
